[Spoilers Warning] Shingeki no Kyojin Anime Thoughts
24 October 2013
A must-watch. Period. I can totally understand why it is so popular. Other than the fact it is a production of Production I.G, when compared to many of the animes, Shingeki no Kyojin is like a fresh spring breeze (just an analogy; anime is not really so, it's freaking bloody and gory) in the anime scene and it has the power to suck the viewer's mind into the anime [thanks to the amazing animation works] and let them imagine they are in that period where ugly, psychotic, rapist-looking, human-eating giants invades the only place on Earth where humans exist. At least for me.
Human beings had remained at the top of the food chain for many years, but not in this anime. Shingeki no Kyojin revolves around the fact that the world is indeed cruel and in this game of survival, only the strongest and fittest wins. However, Charles Darwin once said, "it is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.". YES! HUMAN BEINGS WILL FIGHT BACK!!! YOU TITANS, BE PREPARED!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!
A little background on the Kyojins:
The origins of the Kyojins are unknown but it is known that they generally lacks intelligence (with some exceptions). Unlike many other organisms, they do not reproduce as they do not possess reproductive organs and Kyojin often have masculine features (yeah of course it should be this way. Can't have the anime to have penises swaying around and boobs jumping about when they run like this. LOLLL).
Their bodies are always maintained at a high temperature and steam can often be seen coming out of their bodies. Kyojin have unbelievable regenerative abilities and they can pop out a new head as soon as it is blown off. But, there's still hope. Their only Achilles' heel is the back of their neck, where they will be killed before they can regenerate when it is being sliced out. They have no apparent need for nourishment due to the fact that they survived over 100 years in an environment without humans (or maybe they actually need humans as food, because when they appear in the anime again, many of them look like they have kwashiorkor (disease onset by lack of protein in diet). But anyway, it is deduced that human beings are just their game and we are eaten JUST FOR FUN!!!! Awww...
Some notable Kyojins:
This 60-metre class Kyojin (you'll know who it is if you read the manga) destroyed the wall surrounding Shiganshina Town and then disappeared in thin air. Don't know who the hell gave birth to this monster but I bet its mother had a hard labour. (EH NO, kyojin has no genitalia.) The infiltration of the other hungry Kyojins led to...
This 15m class psychotic-looking Kyojin who freaking ate Eren's mom and pushed him into such a state of despair that made him vow to kill every single fucking Kyojin!
"Hey hubby, why is our son so small-sized?"
"Whatcha starin' at? My eyes are definitely bigger than yours!"
I really wonder where the mangaka get his inspiration for the outward appearances of these Kyojins and how they kill people. Freaking hell, it's gonna cause the minions watching this anime some nightmares you know!
Capital punishment the SnK way
"Oh god! I am not that finger-licking good!"
"Why do you freaking have to bite your food in half? Is your digestion system that bad???"
As scary and gory it may be, it is definitely one of the MUST-WATCH anime of 2013! If you want me to pick an episode that will get people hooked onto SnK after watching it (but of course I would suggest all to start from episode 1), it will definitely be Episode 22. Unlike others which normally sucks, this filler episode contains ALL THE FEELS.
The desperation to save own's best friend/comrade:
The failure to accomplish something you vowed your life to complete:
The wait for a family member you longed to see but will never come back again:
The painful decision to forgo own's comrade's body in order to save other living comrades:
The burden of making decisions responsible for human's survival:
Oh man, all the Feels.

To add on to the mind-blowing storyline, the anime also has some amazing opening and ending songs and anime soundtracks that fits the respective scenes perfectly! I especially love when the songs are related to the anime and when I listen to it, the best moments from the anime will come flowing in my mind and I'll be in a state of ECSTASYYY!!! wahahaha ANIME (and YAOI), the drug of my life.

As the craze for Shingeki no Kyojin continues to burn due to the continuing manga (which means a second season! yayyy!), everywhere is flooded with SnK Yaoi Doujinshi or Fanart! Everyday is filled with happiness! ^_^
